Al Thani indicated that Qatar continues to cooperate with Egypt and the United States to reach a ceasefire in Gaza. He added that it was believed that the release of Idan Alexander would lead to an end to the Gaza tragedy, but the Israeli response was a violent bombardment.
He explained that the only solution to end the war in Gaza is through negotiations, noting that these negotiations are often undermined by political games and blackmail. The Qatari Prime Minister stated that Qatar will continue its efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement despite attempts to sabotage the negotiations.
He pointed out that the negotiations held in Doha over the past period did not achieve tangible results due to a significant gap between the two parties, with one party demanding a partial agreement that could lead to another, while the other insists on reaching a comprehensive agreement. He added that the military operation "Gideon Armored Vehicles" will delay efforts related to the agreement.
Al Thani stressed that the war of extermination in Gaza will only end through negotiations and diplomacy. Regarding developments in the Washington-Tehran talks, he indicated that Qatar is working with Iran and the Sultanate of Oman to find solutions to bridge the gap between Washington and Tehran, noting that US President Donald Trump is seeking to avoid escalation with Iran, which he believes is a positive development.
With full American support, Israel has been committing genocidal crimes in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 174,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands displaced.
