A group of settlers attacked the outskirts of the town, setting fire to a number of homes, causing extensive material damage and widespread fires in the area, according to the official Palestinian news agency, WAFA.
Video clips circulated showing fires breaking out in several locations in the town of Broqin.
This came after Israeli forces re-entered the town on Thursday evening, just hours after withdrawing, according to the WAFA news agency, which explained that the army stormed the town with a large number of military vehicles, closed off internal streets, raided several homes, and began searching them.
On Thursday afternoon, the Israeli army withdrew from the towns of Bruqin and Kafr ad-Dik, following a nine-day military operation that included the killing of a young Palestinian man, a campaign of arrests, and the conversion of homes into military barracks. The operation was allegedly conducted under the pretext of a search for the perpetrator of a shooting attack that killed an Israeli woman and injured her husband.
In parallel with the genocidal war in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli military and settlers have escalated their attacks in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, resulting in the deaths of at least 969 Palestinians, the injury of approximately 7,000, and the arrest of more than 17,000, according to Palestinian data.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with full US support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, leaving more than 175,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, more than 11,000 missing, and hundreds of thousands displaced.
