Trump announces that India and Pakistan have reached a "comprehensive ceasefire" agreement.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said that talks took place throughout last night between Pakistan and India, mediated by the United States.

He added, "I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have reached a comprehensive and immediate ceasefire agreement." He congratulated both countries for their "wisdom and restraint."

On Saturday, the Pakistani military announced its response to Indian forces' missile attack on three airports inside the country.

On Tuesday, the Indian army announced the launch of a military operation against "targets" in Pakistan and the autonomous region of Azad Kashmir, which is under its control.

He said he targeted nine sites he described as "terrorist structures," while the Islamabad government announced that six civilian sites were targeted, resulting in the deaths of 31 people and the injury of 57 others.

Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated on April 22, after gunmen opened fire on tourists in the town of Pahalgam in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, killing 26 people and wounding several others.
