"Defense Minister Yasar Guler received the Ambassador of our friendly and brotherly Pakistan, Yousuf Junaid, in his office," the Turkish Ministry of Defense said in a post on the X platform.
The meeting comes days after the Indian army announced the launch of a military operation against "targets" in Pakistan and the autonomous region of Azad Kashmir, which is under its control, on May 6.
The Indian army said it targeted nine sites it described as "terrorist infrastructure," while the Islamabad government announced that six civilian sites were targeted, resulting in the deaths of 31 people and the injury of 57 others.
Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated on April 22, after gunmen opened fire on tourists in the town of Pahalgam in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, killing 26 people and wounding several others.
