"These (Israeli) attacks on Syria will only destabilize Syria," the ministry said in a statement, noting that "the United Nations has called for their immediate cessation."
The statement added that the ministry continues to coordinate with various parties in the region to implement field activities at the request of the Syrian government.
Regarding tensions between Pakistan and India, the Ministry of Defense condemned attacks targeting civilians and infrastructure, calling on both sides to de-escalate.
"We hope that the existing tension between the two countries will ease as soon as possible, and that the necessary mechanisms will be established to prevent the recurrence of such incidents, including cooperation in combating terrorism," she said.
Regarding reports claiming that the Greek Cypriot Administration has issued a navigational alert (NAVTEX) regarding planned drilling operations in what is known as "Sector 5" in the Eastern Mediterranean, the Ministry stated that it has not received any navigational alerts in this sector, which the Greek administration claims is within its exclusive economic zone.
The ministry affirmed that "the aforementioned sector lies within the Turkish continental shelf, as we declared at the United Nations on March 18, 2020," stressing that any potential violation there would be immediately addressed.
Regarding the appointment of Turkish Major General Arai Öngüder as NATO's Director of Cooperation and Security, she said, "For the first time in NATO's history, Türkiye will be given representation at the director-level at NATO's International Military Headquarters in Brussels."
