Turkish Foreign Ministry sources: Diplomats will visit Ozturk, a student detained in the United States.

Sources told Anadolu Agency on Wednesday that developments related to the Turkish student have been closely monitored by the Turkish Foreign Ministry since the first day of her detention.

She added that the expected visit is likely to take place on May 9, and that Ozturk will continue to receive all forms of support from the Turkish consulate.

Earlier on Wednesday, the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Turkish doctoral student Rumeysa Ozturk, who was arrested for her support of Palestine, be transferred from a Louisiana detention center to Vermont.

The court rejected the US government's objection to the transfer of Ozturk, who has been detained for nearly six weeks in Louisiana.

The appeals panel judges asked the U.S. Department of Justice to abide by the federal court's ruling on the transfer.

On March 25, US authorities arrested Ozturk in Massachusetts for her support of Palestine. She was then transferred to Louisiana, where testimony was heard in the first hearing of the case.

At the time, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that his country had revoked Ozturk's visa and intended to deport her from the United States. Rubio said that his country had revoked the visas of more than 300 foreign students, whom he described as "supporters of Hamas."
