US and Israeli condemnations of the killing of two employees in a shooting at the Tel Aviv embassy in Washington.

US President Donald Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social: “These horrific murders in Washington, D.C., clearly linked to anti-Semitism! They must end, now.”

Trump added, "There is no place for hatred and extremism in the United States."

For his part, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that authorities "will track down those responsible" for the shooting that killed two Israeli embassy employees.

"This was a blatant act of cowardly, anti-Semitic violence. We will track down those responsible and bring them to justice," Rubio wrote on Twitter.

In a statement, Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon considered the "deadly shooting outside an event at the Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C....an anti-Semitic act of terrorism," warning that "harming diplomats and the Jewish community crosses a red line."

Israeli President Isaac Herzog condemned the incident, saying it "shows hatred and anti-Semitism that claimed the lives of Israeli embassy employees."

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar said that Israel's representatives are "always in danger, and especially at this time they are in increased danger."

Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid also condemned what he described as a "horrific murder in Washington" and an "anti-Semitic act of terrorism" that was "a direct result of the incitement we have seen in demonstrations around the world," he said.

Israel's far-right Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, considered the incident part of "the same anti-Semitic hatred that now aims to deny the existence of the State of Israel," he said.

On Wednesday evening, two Israeli embassy employees were killed in a shooting near the Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., during a reception for young diplomats organized by the American Jewish Committee.

US police arrested the suspect, a 30-year-old man named Elias Rodriguez from Chicago, Illinois. Police explained that his record was devoid of any known criminal history, making him a target for law enforcement.
