A US intelligence report suggests that the strikes delayed Iran's nuclear program by only months.

The Associated Press quoted two unnamed informed sources on Tuesday as saying that the report concluded that the US strike targeting Iran's Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear facilities "inflicted significant damage to these sites, but did not lead to their complete destruction."

The report's authors estimated that "some of Iran's highly enriched uranium was removed from the sites prior to the strikes and thus survived, and that most of the centrifuges were undamaged."

Regarding the Fordow facility, which is located inside a tunnel beneath a mountain at a depth of 80 to 90 meters, the report indicated that its entrance collapsed and its infrastructure was damaged, but the underground structure was not destroyed.

One of the sources noted that previous assessments had warned of the limited effectiveness of any strike against Fordow.

Commenting on the report, White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt said in a statement: "Leaking this alleged assessment is a clear attempt to undermine President Trump and diminish the success of the pilots who executed the mission with precision to destroy Iran's nuclear program."

She added, "Everyone knows that dropping 14 30,000-pound bombs on targets means total destruction."

In repeated statements over the past few days, Trump has said that the US strike on the Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan sites "totally destroyed them" and that Iran "will never be able to rebuild its nuclear facilities."

For his part, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a televised address on Tuesday evening: "I promised you for decades that Iran would not possess a nuclear weapon, and indeed... we have destroyed Iran's nuclear program," he claimed.

He considered the United States' joining Israel in carrying out strikes against Iran a "historic event," and thanked Trump.

On June 13, Israel, with US support, launched a 12-day attack on Iran, targeting military and nuclear sites, civilian facilities, and the assassination of military leaders and nuclear scientists. The attack resulted in 606 deaths and 5,332 injuries, according to the Iranian Ministry of Health.

Iran responded by targeting Israeli military and intelligence headquarters with ballistic missiles and drones, a large number of which penetrated defense systems, causing unprecedented destruction and panic, as well as 28 deaths and 3,238 injuries, according to the Ministry of Health and Hebrew media.

As Iran responded to Israel's missile attacks, inflicting heavy losses, the United States attacked Iranian nuclear facilities, claiming the "end" of its nuclear program. Tehran responded by bombing the U.S. Al-Udeid military base in Qatar. Washington then declared a ceasefire between Tel Aviv and Tehran on June 24.
