MPR Chairman asks ministers not to burden the President with various polemics

MPR RI Chairman Ahmad Muzani reminded the ministers in the Red and White Cabinet not to burden President Prabowo Subianto with the emergence of various polemics like those that occurred previously, which attracted public attention.

It would be better, he said, for ministers to conduct a more strategic study when handling a problem. And he hopes that the problems can be resolved at the ministerial level without causing polemics.

"In fact, the problem can be resolved at the ministerial level. Whether it is islands or other problems," said Muzani at the parliament complex, Jakarta, Wednesday.

He said that the President should handle other issues that are more strategic, more comprehensive, and more meaningful for the interests and progress of the nation in the future.

He said this in response to the latest polemics regarding the island dispute, to the problem of people experiencing obstacles in sea transportation on Enggano Island, Bengkulu. A number of these problems have become public attention and were resolved directly by President Prabowo.

With this, he reminded that the outermost islands that are the borders of the country must be built like a fence for a country. This, he said, could be a source of pride for the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto determined that four islands affected by inter-provincial boundary disputes in Sumatra are included in the administrative area of Aceh Province. The four islands disputed by Aceh Province and North Sumatra Province (Sumut) are Panjang Island, Lipan Island, Mangkir Kecil Island, and Mangkir Besar Island.
