This came during Mansour's address to the Security Council on Wednesday evening, after the Security Council failed to adopt a draft resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza and the provision of humanitarian aid, due to the United States' use of its veto power.
Mansour said that Palestinians trying to obtain life-saving aid face degrading treatment and conditions, calling for "an end to this terrible situation."
He added: "We were hoping for full support (for the draft resolution), but unfortunately the veto was used, even though it (the draft resolution) should have been adopted a long time ago."
He pointed out that Israel "violated the ceasefire, imposed a blockade on humanitarian aid, escalated the killing of Palestinian children, women, and men, and accelerated the destruction in the Gaza Strip."
The Palestinian delegate expressed his country's intention to address the UN General Assembly in the coming days, noting that "the pressures that can put an end to the genocide are immediate, real measures from states that prevent Israel from prolonging this aggression against the Palestinian people."
He added: "Dozens of member states of the General Assembly can take measures in their national capacity, as states that have the means available to you in your national capacity... The crime against humanity must be stopped, and you must do it."
The draft resolution in the Security Council called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, describing the humanitarian situation there as "catastrophic."
He also called on Israel to lift all restrictions on the delivery of humanitarian aid to some 2.4 million Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.
Although 14 out of 15 countries voted in favor of the draft drafted by Algeria, Washington, which supports Israel, used its veto power to thwart it.
The Associated Press reported that Washington used its veto, claiming that the draft resolution did not link the ceasefire to the "release of the hostages (Israeli detainees)."
The US agency noted that the draft resolution "did not condemn Hamas's attack on Israel on October 7, 2023... or stipulate that the movement must disarm and leave Gaza, two other US demands."
With full American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.
The genocide left approximately 180,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing. Hundreds of thousands were displaced, and a famine claimed the lives of many, including children.
