The Batam City District Attorney's Office, Riau Islands, has named a foreign citizen from Singapore with the initials PTP as a suspect in a case of alleged corruption involving the misuse of public facilities and social facilities belonging to the Batam City Government.
Head of the Batam District Attorney's Office, I Ketut Kasna Dedi, in Batam, Tuesday, said that due to the suspect's actions, the potential value of losses or loss of assets experienced by the Batam City Government reached IDR 4.89 billion.
"Investigators have obtained four valid pieces of evidence to determine the suspect, namely witness statements, expert witnesses, letters, and clues," said Kasna when releasing the case.
Based on the results of the investigation, said Kasna, unlawful acts were found and state losses were found based on the results of the audit by the Indonesian Audit Board (BPK) so that investigators named PTP as a suspect in the case that had been investigated since September 2024.
The object of the case of public facilities and infrastructure covering an area of 4,946 square meters is located in the Merlion Square Housing Complex, Tanjung Uncang, Batam City. The facility is managed by the developer PT Sentek Indonesia which is controlled.
