The channel reported on Tuesday that Trump is considering a potential US strike against Iranian nuclear facilities, noting that he has shown less interest in the idea of a diplomatic solution to end the conflict in the region.
In the same context, US President Donald Trump met with his national security team on Tuesday to assess recent developments regarding tensions between Israel and Iran.
White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt explained that Trump met with his national security team in the White House Situation Room. She noted that the meeting was held behind closed doors, and hinted that Trump might make press statements afterward.
Earlier Tuesday, Trump said in a post on Truth Social: "We know exactly where (Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei) is hiding. He's an easy target, but he's safe there. We won't take him out, at least not now." He added in another post: "We now have total and complete control of Iranian airspace."
Since dawn last Friday, Israel, with US support, has launched an aggression against Iran, including bombing nuclear facilities and missile bases, and assassinating military leaders and nuclear scientists. The attack has left 224 dead and 1,277 wounded. Tehran has responded with ballistic missiles and drones, leaving approximately 24 dead and hundreds wounded.
Tel Aviv and Tehran consider each other their arch-enemies, and Israel's current aggression against Iran is the most extensive of its kind, representing a transition from a "shadow war" of bombings and assassinations to an open military conflict.
