Commission III supports the Ministry of Home Affairs in banning mass organizations from using attributes similar to those of the authorities

Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives Ahmad Sahroni supports the firm steps of the Ministry of Home Affairs which prohibits mass organizations from using attributes resembling the TNI/Polri or the Attorney General's Office.

"A week ago I said that no mass organization should wear uniforms resembling those of the apparatus, especially the TNI/Polri. So if now the Ministry of Home Affairs has firmly prohibited it, of course I strongly agree," said Sahroni in his statement.

Sahroni said that the TNI/Polri's style made mass organizations feel like heroes and caused unrest among the community.

"Moreover, this practice has been disturbing the public for a long time. Those who are not state officials suddenly appear in public spaces in full military uniforms, giving the impression that they have legal authority. It makes them seem like they are on the same level as the military and police. That's why I ask the police to ensure that all mass organizations comply so that there are no more challengers who pretend to be big shots," he said.

However, Sahroni also hopes that the Ministry of Home Affairs will give a deadline to all mass organizations that still wear attributes resembling officers, to immediately change their uniforms.
