Egyptian authorities arrested a gang involved in smuggling migrants from Egypt to Europe via the Libyan desert.
Investigations revealed that Mansour M., a 53-year-old carpenter, played a pivotal role in organizing and managing an organized criminal group specializing in smuggling young Egyptians abroad illegally.
This was done in exchange for large sums of money, despite their awareness that these unsafe journeys put migrants' lives at risk, especially as they crossed the desert paths to Libya and then by sea to Europe.
