During a phone call with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Erdoğan said that "the conflict phase that began with the Israeli attack on Iran has increased the threats to regional security to the highest level," according to a statement published by the Turkish Presidency's Communications Department on its Twitter account.
During the call, he warned that Israeli attacks on Iran could harm the region and Europe in terms of migration and the possibility of nuclear leaks.
The Turkish president emphasized that the only way to resolve the nuclear dispute with Iran is to sit down at the negotiating table, emphasizing that Türkiye is making efforts to end the conflict and ensure calm, and that these efforts will continue.
Since June 13, Israel, with US support, has been waging an aggression against Iran, targeting nuclear facilities, missile bases, military leaders, and nuclear scientists. Tehran responded by launching ballistic missiles and drones deep into Israel, in the largest direct confrontation between the two sides.
