Facebook introduces passkey login feature on iOS and Android

Facebook has officially launched login support using passkeys for iOS and Android devices, which offers a higher level of security than the conventional username and password combination.

As reported by Tech Crunch on Friday, passkey utilizes biometric authentication methods such as Face ID or Touch ID, PIN, or physical authentication keys to verify access. In this way, passkey makes remote hacking much more difficult because it requires physical access to the user's device.

In addition to increasing security, using a passkey also reduces the risk of account theft through phishing attacks that often target user credentials. Facebook explains that users no longer need to remember username and password combinations.
