Steam adds a number of new accessibility features

Digital game distribution platform Steam has introduced a series of new features to improve accessibility in the latest beta version of its gaming client.

Steam adds three main features, namely customizable UI scaling settings. With this feature, users can adjust the size of the user interface (UI) with a sliding scale according to their visual preferences.

Then there is a high contrast mode that makes it easier for users to distinguish text and buttons from the background, thereby significantly improving readability.

Finally, the reduce motion setting allows users to disable certain animations and page transitions that can interfere with visual comfort or trigger certain conditions such as motion sickness or a condition characterized by nausea, dizziness, and sometimes vomiting while playing games.
