Facebook announced that in the coming months, all videos uploaded to its platform will automatically be displayed in Reels format, regardless of their length or orientation.
As reported by Tech Crunch on Wednesday, this step was taken to simplify the video sharing format on the platform. So far, users can choose between uploading regular videos or Reels, but in the future there will no longer be that distinction.
Additionally, the “Video” tab in the Facebook app will be renamed to “Reels,” although Facebook has confirmed that this update will not affect the videos recommended to users.
