Fajar Alfian likes the blue carpet of Istora because of the Bobotoh spirit

Indonesian men's doubles badminton player Fajar Alfian said he was happy with the new atmosphere of the Istora Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, which now uses a blue carpet in the 2025 BWF World Tour Super 1000 Indonesia Open tournament.

For Fajar, the color blue is not just a visual change, but also touches his emotional side as a Persib Bandung or Bobotoh supporter.

"The atmosphere of Istora is very different. This blue carpet can be a characteristic like All England (grey). I personally like the color blue because I am a Bobotoh," said Fajar after winning with his partner Muhammad Rian Ardianto in the first round, Wednesday.

Fajar/Rian advanced to the last 16 after defeating the Danish pair Daniel Lundgaard/Mads Vestergaard in two straight games 21-10, 21-19 in a 35-minute match.

According to Rian, this victory was achieved thanks to strategic readiness from the start of the match, although he admitted that the game had declined in the second game.

"We are grateful that today we were able to play smoothly and without injury. From the beginning we had discussed with the coach, and thank God the start was quite good. But in the second game when we were chasing each other, the opponent played very well. We have to evaluate to be safer , not easily killed by ourselves, and stay focused on crucial points," said Rian.
