A statement issued by the Medical Services Directorate on Tuesday said, "Three paramedics were killed by Israeli occupation forces' fire while performing their humanitarian duty."
The statement added, "The Medical Services Directorate mourns three members of the Directorate's Ambulance and Emergency Department who were killed by Israeli occupation forces while performing their humanitarian duty, while trying to rescue a number of injured people from a house targeted by the occupation forces in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, northeast of Gaza City, last night. They were directly hit by a tank shell, which led to their immediate martyrdom. Another ambulance crew that tried to reach them and retrieve their bodies was also shot at by occupation forces' vehicles and drones."
The statement called on "the international community and all relevant institutions to open an urgent international investigation into this Israeli crime," and called for providing protection for medical personnel and working to "prevent the occupation's repeated targeting of them while they carry out their duties."
For his part, an official at the Medical Relief Society in Gaza said: The food ration distributed at the aid centers is very simple and insufficient.
He pointed out that the injuries were directly and fatally close to the aid centers.
