Google tests audio search result summary feature on mobile

Google has started testing Audio Overviews on the first page of search results on mobile devices, displaying a summary of information in the form of sound generated by artificial intelligence (AI).

As reported by The Verge on Monday, this trial can be activated through Google Labs and allows users to generate podcast-style discussions based on certain queries.

For example, when a user searches for “How do noise cancellation headphones work ?”, a button labeled “Generate Audio Overview” will appear under the People also ask section. Once clicked, Google will take up to 40 seconds to generate an audio clip that answers the user’s question.
