The Ministry of Communication and Digital stated that harmonization with local industries and the difficulty of obtaining capital are challenges in building faster and more evenly distributed network connectivity in Indonesia.
"I think the challenge is in policy and regulation, how to harmonize between the government and local industry," said the Director of Strategy and Digital Infrastructure Policy of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy, Denny Setiawan, in a discussion at the 2025 International Conference on Infrastructure (ICI).
Denny gave an example of building an internet connection along a road in an area, it is necessary to first coordinate with the local government together with other parties involved.
