In response to a request for comment from the channel, the US embassy in Israel said: "Given the current situation, embassy staff have begun leaving Israel by various means."
Earlier today, US Ambassador Mike Huckabee said in a post on the X platform that the United States is working to evacuate its citizens from Israel through air and sea flights.
He added that the US Embassy in Jerusalem is working on evacuation arrangements, and urged Americans in Israel to register for updates through the US State Department's travel program.
This comes amid an ongoing Israeli aggression against Iran, backed by the United States, that has continued since last Friday. The aggression has targeted nuclear facilities and missile bases, and assassinated military leaders and nuclear scientists, leaving 224 dead and 1,277 wounded. Tehran has responded with ballistic missiles and drones, leaving approximately 24 dead and hundreds wounded.
Tel Aviv and Tehran consider each other their arch-enemies, and Israel's current aggression against Iran is the most extensive of its kind, representing a transition from a "shadow war" of bombings and assassinations to an open military conflict.
