Investigators from the Gorontalo High Prosecutor's Office conducted a search in General Section room at the Gorontalo Mayor's office, Gorontalo Province.
"This search is related to the alleged corruption case of official travel of Gorontalo City government officials," said the Assistant for Special Crimes of the Gorontalo High Prosecutor's Office, Nursurya.
He said the search was part of the initial investigation process, where the case had been handled and investigated for three months, then two days ago its status was raised to the investigation stage.
He said that this search refers to important documents, evidence and tools of evidence, which can support the disclosure of this case, as well as who the individuals are who will be held accountable.
"We are still looking for documents to uncover this case," he said.
Gorontalo Mayor Adhan Dambea, who also witnessed the search process, admitted that he welcomed and strongly supported the steps taken by the Gorontalo High Prosecutor's Office in eradicating criminal acts of corruption.
According to Adhan, the Gorontalo High Prosecutor's Office showed concern for the Gorontalo City Government, in order to create a government environment free from corruption.
He said he had a big hope that when his term of office ended, the Gorontalo City government would be completely free from corruption.
"Alhamdulillah, today Aspidsus and the team have arrived. I want that during my term of office, the Gorontalo City government must be clean and free from corruption," he added.
