The government through the Ministry of Communication and Digital emphasized the importance of integration between ethics and inclusivity regarding artificial intelligence (AI) governance.
At the UNESCO Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Bangkok, Thailand, Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Nezar Patria emphasized Indonesia's position as one of the developing countries that is actively transforming the principles of ethics and inclusivity of artificial intelligence (AI) into a concrete regulatory framework.
"Indonesia has integrated UNESCO's AI ethics and inclusivity principles into policy-making and governance in a real way," Nezar said in an official statement received in Jakarta, Wednesday.
Nezar said that Indonesia not only normatively supports the UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of AI (2021), but has also taken a number of substantive and measurable steps to implement it at the national level.
According to him, the integration includes the development of a national AI strategy, which will then be followed up with the issuance of AI regulations in the near future.
