The Ministry of Communication and Digital said that Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 concerning the Governance of the Implementation of Electronic Systems in Child Protection is a digital literacy medium related to the use of social media by children.
"Digital literacy is one of the strong points or the focus now going forward is related to PP Tunas. So it limits children from being able to access social media, or actually delays it," said the Head of the Human Resources Development Agency of the Ministry of Communication and Digital, Bonifasius Wahyu Pudjianto in a press conference.
The implementation of PP Tunas, said Bonifasius, is not only a digital literacy instrument for children and teenagers but also for parents. This is because parents have a big responsibility in supervising children in the digital space, including when using social media.
"Digital literacy in its duties and responsibilities apart from carrying out literacy in the form of digital literacy, digital safety, digital culture, even digital ethics to how to protect children in the digital realm, especially social media," said Bonifasius.
