The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia Johor Bahru again facilitated the repatriation of 100 Indonesian citizens Indonesian migrant workers (PMI), who were previously undergoing the detention process at the Kemayan Immigration Detention Depot (DTI), Pahang, Malaysia.
According to information from the Socio-Cultural Information (Pensosbud) of the Indonesian Consulate General in Johor Bahru received in Jakarta, Saturday, they consisted of 64 men, 31 women, and five boys.
The repatriation process was accompanied by the KJRI Johor Bahru Task Force team with full support from the Malaysian immigration authorities.
The group departed at 10.00 local time from Pasir Gudang International Port, Johor, to Batam Centre Port, Batam.
Upon arrival at Batam Centre Port, Indonesian citizens/PMI were welcomed and handed over from the Indonesian Consulate General in Johor Bahru to the Batam P4MI Team, Immigration, and the Batam Centre Port Health Office.

They were then directed to the P4MI Batam Temporary Transit Place to undergo the final stages of processing before returning to their respective areas of origin.
Head of the Service and Protection Task Force Team of the Indonesian Consulate General in Johor Bahru Jati, Heri Winarto, said that this repatriation program is part of the major target of cooperation between the Malaysian Immigration and the Indonesian Representative Office in Peninsular Malaysia in facilitating the repatriation of 7,200 Indonesian citizens/Indonesian migrant workers in a period of two years.
To date, he said, there are 951 Indonesian citizens/Indonesian migrant workers who have been deported through the M Program initiated by the Malaysian Immigration Service (JIM) Putrajaya. Overall, until June 28, 2025, the Indonesian Consulate General in Johor Bahru has assisted in the deportation and repatriation process of 3,007 Indonesian citizens/Indonesian migrant workers.
Winarto also appealed to Indonesian citizens who wish to work abroad, especially in Malaysia, to always follow official and registered migration procedures, to avoid potential violations of the law and the risk of deportation ( safe migration ).
"The Indonesian Consulate General in Johor Bahru will continue to be committed to providing maximum protection for all Indonesian citizens/Indonesian migrant workers, as part of the humanitarian diplomacy efforts that we uphold," he said.
