Indonesian women's singles badminton player Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi failed to follow in the footsteps of Putri Kusuma Wardani who advanced to the second round of the BWF World Tour Super 1000 Indonesia Open 2025.
Komang had to pack his bags early after losing in the first round to Taiwanese representative Lin Hsiang Ti in two straight games 19-21, 10-21 at the Istora Gelora Bung Karno, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday.
The match was tight from the start of the first game. Komang and Lin shared points, but a number of unforced errors allowed Lin to take a two-point lead and seize the momentum.
Komang had risen and led 11-10 in the first interval. However, after the break, Lin appeared more consistent and managed to turn things around.
Even though Komang tried to equalize, the Taiwanese representative continued to press until closing the first game with a score of 21-19.
