Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao is determined to defeat the World Boxing Council (WBC) welterweight (66.6 kg) world champion Mario Barios in order to leave an important legacy in the world of boxing.
"(The fight against Barrios) means a lot to me and my boxing career, breaking my own record. But my goal is to leave a legacy for boxing fans because it can inspire the younger generation who dream of becoming champions," Manny Pacquiao said in a press conference in Los Angeles as reported by The Ring website monitored in Jakarta, Wednesday.
The two boxers will step into the ring at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas on July 19, 2025, where Pacquiao will attempt to make history again.
The boxer, who is the only eight-division champion, said he could not believe he was returning to action nearly four years after his last fight.
"I never imagined that I would come back," Pacquiao said.
