Madura United no longer uses foreign goalkeepers

Madura United team manager Umar A. Wachdin said his team will no longer use the services of foreign goalkeepers for the 2025/2026 Liga 1 season.

Madura already has five foreign players who are all defenders. They are Iran Junior, Jordy Werhmann, Pedro Monteiro, Kerim Palic, and Luis Marselo Morais dos Reis alias Lulinha.

Of the five foreign legions, the team nicknamed Laskar Sape Kerrab still has three foreign player slots, but Umar said he would not use the slots for the goalkeeper position.

"For goalkeepers, we have enough. We have announced five goalkeepers. All of them are local. For foreigners, we will focus on other positions," said Umar, quoted from the official website of Liga Indonesia Baru, Wednesday.

Now, Madura has five local goalkeepers, namely Miswar Saputra, Aditya Harlan, M Dicki Indriyana, Rendy Razzaqu, and most recently Satrio Azhar Aisy Santoso.

The five goalkeepers have been undergoing training at the Madura United Training Ground (MUTG) Pamekasan since last Monday.
