Persijap Jepara has officially recruited Argentine player Alexis Nahuel Gomez to strengthen the team's midfield in the 2025/2026 Indonesian League 1 competition.
The 27-year-old was brought in with the hope of adding stability and creativity to the midfield.
"I am very happy to be able to join Persijap. This is a new challenge and I am ready to give everything for this team," said Gomez as quoted from an official statement received by reporters, Wednesday.
Before joining Laskar Kalinyamat, Gomez was recorded as having defended a number of clubs in Argentina such as Deportivo Riestra and UAI Urquiza, as well as expanding his career in India with Sudeva Delhi FC and Mohammedan SC.
Persijap management considers Gomez's extensive experience in the international arena to be valuable capital to boost the team's performance in the upcoming competition.
The presence of the player is expected to add depth to the squad and increase Persijap's competitiveness in midfield.
Promoted club Persijap is looking at the new season quite seriously. They have recruited coach Mario Lemos and brought in several new names such as Douglas Cruz and Wahyudi Hamisi.
