Technology company Meta has introduced a new smart glasses product created in collaboration with Oakley.
According to The Verge's broadcast on Friday (20/6), the smart glasses product named Oakley Meta HSTN (pronounced " how-stuhn ") is equipped with a front camera as well as speakers and microphones on the frame.
The Oakley Meta HSTN can be connected to your phone to listen to music or podcasts, make phone calls, or interact with the Meta AI.
By utilizing the built-in camera and microphone, Meta AI can answer questions based on what the user is looking at, including translating languages.
Oakley Meta HSTN sunglasses have an IPX4 water resistance rating and a battery capacity twice that of Ray-Ban Meta sunglasses.
The device is powered by a battery that can last up to eight hours of use and a charging case that can extend the battery life up to 48 hours.
The camera mounted on the Oakley Meta HSTN glasses can record video at 3K resolution, higher than the 1080p resolution of the Ray-Ban Meta glasses camera.
The new line of smart glasses comes in five Oakley frame and lens combinations, all of which are prescription compatible for an additional fee.
