Trump again extends TikTok ban

For the third time, United States (US) President Donald Trump has extended the deadline for TikTok to separate from its Chinese parent company or face a ban in the US.

As confirmed by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt in a statement reported by The Verge, Thursday (6/19), Trump signed an executive order extending the deadline by another 90 days, and giving a new deadline of mid-September.

The Trump administration will spend the next 90 days “working to ensure this deal closes so Americans can continue to use TikTok with the assurance that their data is safe and secure,” Leavitt said.
