Pulmonology specialist at the University of Indonesia Hospital, Dr. Aditya Wirawan Ph.D SpP, said that smoking cessation methods can be done in several ways, starting from reducing, delaying, to stopping completely.
"There are several methods, if you want to stop immediately, that's great, secondly, there are those who postpone giving cigarettes and thirdly, reducing the number of cigarettes smoked every day or gradually," said Aditya in a health discussion monitored online.
Adit explained that the way to quit smoking can be by reducing the number of cigarettes consumed per day. For example, smokers limit themselves to only 10 cigarettes per day, then the next day reduce it to two cigarettes per day, until the sixth day it continues to be reduced to two cigarettes until no more cigarettes are consumed.
