Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions Yandri Susanto appreciated all villages/sub-districts in West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara that have formed and completed the deed of establishment of the Merah Putih Village/Sub-district Cooperative.
"So we are optimistic that we will resolve the poverty in NTT that occurs in the villages and in accordance with the President's second Asta Cita, namely economic equality and poverty alleviation, it will be achieved," he said in Labuan Bajo.
He hopes that villages in NTT, especially in West Manggarai, can become the main actors in realizing food security in villages through the Merah Putih Village/Sub-district Cooperative that has been formed.
"Now there are also village funds for food security, and later the Red and White Red and White Village Cooperative can also carry out activities for food security, whether the villages are in accordance with the existing potential, thematic villages can be egg-laying chicken villages, tomato villages, chili villages, rice villages and so on," he said.
Furthermore, Yandri Susanto, when giving directions to village heads and members of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) in West Manggarai, stated that economic growth and food security were considered very important, especially since the Merah Putih Village/Sub-district Cooperative had been formed.
