Persijap Jepara has officially recruited Brazilian center back Douglas Nonato Oliveira Cruz to strengthen the defense ahead of the 2025/2026 Liga 1 competition season.
President of Persijap Jepara Club, M. Iqbal Hidayat, said that the recruitment of Douglas was part of the club's long-term strategy in building a competitive team strength.
"The recruitment of Douglas is part of a long-term effort to strengthen the team structure. Although he comes from a League 2 team, after going through a scouting division evaluation and consultation with head coach Mario Lemos, we agreed that Douglas has the capacity to strengthen the back line," said Iqbal, quoted from a written statement received.
