President Prabowo Subianto apologized for not being able to attend in person the inauguration of geothermal power plants and solar power plants in 15 provinces, as well as the increase in oil and gas production in the Cepu Block.
President Prabowo Subianto delivered the apology via video conference from Bali and inaugurated online the two projects that were supposed to be carried out on Thursday.
"I apologize profusely. I cannot be physically present due to the uncertainty of the weather. I have been ready since 8 am to fly," said President Prabowo giving his inauguration remarks via video conference from Bali, which was watched via the Presidential Secretariat YouTube account in Jakarta, Thursday.
In fact, President Prabowo was scheduled to attend two inaugurations in two different places, namely the inauguration of 24 PLTP and PLTS power plants in 15 provinces simultaneously which were centered at the Ijen PLTP, Bondowoso Regency, East Java.
Then, the President is also scheduled to inaugurate an increase in oil production by 30 thousand barrels in the Cepu Block, Bojonegoro Regency, East Java.
However, due to uncertain weather, the President was unable to attend the two inaugurations in person and only held a video conference with the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia who was present in East Java, and the Deputy Minister of ESDM Yuliot Tanjung in Central Java.
"Because the weather did not permit, I was forced to attend via video conference. . Once again I apologize, I really want to be there physically. God willing, I will find time to be present to see such important, such historic and such proud projects as a nation and as individuals," said President Prabowo.
In the video connection, President Prabowo also conveyed his apology to the President of ExxonMobil Indonesia, Wade Floyd.
The President admitted that he would look for his own schedule to see the operation of the Cepu Block which has a total oil and gas lifting of 180 thousand barrels per day, after the addition of 30 thousand barrels.
"I promise, I want to see your (company) operations. Because I want to see, every visit for me is a learning experience, so don't be surprised if I review your place," Prabowo said to Floyd.
