Putin says Prabowo has determination to improve RI-Russia relations




 Russian President Vladimir Putin assessed that President Prabowo Subianto has a strong determination to improve good relations between Indonesia and Russia.

"This is indeed a very good sign that Indonesia, under the current President, is determined to develop relations comprehensively," Putin said regarding Prabowo Subianto's state visit to St Petersburg, Russia, on Thursday.

This was conveyed by Putin in a limited dialogue with ANTARA CEO Akhmad Munir, and a number of leaders of the world's leading news agencies, in St Petersburg, Russia.

Putin said his relationship with President Prabowo is indeed very good. He greatly appreciates Prabowo's willingness to come to Russia, make a state visit and accept the invitation to attend the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2025.

According to Putin, Indonesia as one of the countries with the largest population in the world, is experiencing very rapid development.

The economic structure of developing countries is changing, with GDP and economic growth rates increasing rapidly.

According to Putin, Russia and Indonesia have very good friendly relations. Russia will continue to maintain the cooperation that has been established, and will try to diversify other cooperation.

Putin welcomed Indonesia's move to join BRICS and will ensure that Indonesia benefits from its membership there.

"BRICS countries, including Russia, are of course interested in building relations with Indonesia in areas that are Indonesia's priorities," he explained.

Putin said that Russia has something to offer Indonesia, especially in the field of high technology. Meanwhile, Indonesia, he believes, will also offer its interesting ideas to Russia.
