 The first aircraft to serve international routes at Ahmad Yani Airport in Semarang, Central Java, will make its maiden flight on September 5, 2025.Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi after meeting with representatives of airlines and management of Ahmad Yani Airport in Semarang, Wednesday, said that AirAsia for the Semarang-Kuala Lumpur route will initiate the opening of the international route."The first flight will be on September 5, tickets will go on sale starting June 18," he said.According to him, Semarang-Malaysia flight tickets will be sold at a price of IDR 760 thousand per person.He said that the reopening of international flights from Semarang Airport has been eagerly awaited by the public."This is one of the steps to develop investment and tourism," he said.Meanwhile, General Manager of Ahmad Yani Airport Semarang Fajar Purwawidada added that new international flight routes from the capital city of Central Java will continue to be developed.In addition to AirAsia, Scoot is also planned to serve the Semarang-Singapore flight.He said that it is also possible to open international flight routes from Semarang with direct destinations to Vietnam and Thailand."Apart from Malaysia and Singapore, there is great potential for destinations such as Vietnam and Thailand," he added.
