At dawn on Sunday, the Rapid Support Forces launched a large-scale ground attack on El Fasher, following a period of pause in their advance into the city, where they were content with shelling with artillery and drones, according to the Sudan Tribune website .
Governor Al-Hafez Bakhit said in a statement that the Rapid Support Forces, while withdrawing following the defeat, bombed a shelter for displaced persons at the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources headquarters, killing five people and wounding more than 30 others.
He explained that the armed forces, police, General Intelligence Service, and joint forces repelled a major attack launched by the Rapid Support Forces on El Fasher.
He pointed out that the attack, which lasted until midday, resulted in the killing and wounding of dozens of Rapid Support Forces personnel, the destruction of a large number of military vehicles, and the seizure of others.
The 6th Infantry Division, based at the army base in El Fasher, said that the armed forces and supporting forces repelled an attack launched by the Rapid Support Forces on the city.
The statement added that the armed forces had smashed the Rapid Support Forces' advance line before inflicting heavy losses on them, including two "Sarsar" armored vehicles and two armored combat vehicles.
