If you have just purchased a Nintendo Switch 2 game console, it is important to refrain from removing the film layer attached to the console's screen.
According to the European version of the Switch 2 safety instructions, reported by The Verge on Tuesday, this layer is not a regular protector, but rather an anti-fragmentation layer designed to prevent glass shards from spreading if the screen breaks.
This warning is similar to the one imposed on the Switch OLED, which also features a similar coating. The goal is to reduce the risk of injury from broken glass if the screen is damaged.
