Taiwan opened qualifying with a landslide 8-0 win



The Taiwanese women's national team opened the 2026 Women's Asian Cup Group D qualifying round with a landslide 8-0 victory over Pakistan at the Indomilk Arena, Tangerang Regency.

Taiwan, who came to Indonesia as the world's 42nd ranked country in women's football, did not encounter any difficulties from the moment the whistle was blown.

In the first half, they opened the scoring in the 14th minute through Pu Hsin-Hui's goal, before doubling the lead to 2-0 three minutes later through Chen Jin-Wen. Taiwan then closed the first half with a score of 3-0 through a goal from Su Yu-Hsuan in the 40th minute.

Entering the second half, Taiwan scored their fourth goal through Hsu Si-yun (66'). They had difficulty scoring the fifth goal, but finally managed to score four goals in just six minutes at the end of the second half through Saki Matsunaga (86'), Liu Yu-Chiao (88'), and He Jia-Shiuan (90+1' & 90+2'). The final score of the match was 8-0.

With this result, Taiwan leads the Group D standings with three points, while Pakistan is at the bottom. The other two teams, Indonesia and Kyrgyzstan will play their first match at 20.00 WIB at Indomilk Arena.
