The Chinese president affirms his willingness to cooperate with Central Asian countries in confronting hegemony and power politics

Chinese President Xi Jinping affirmed his country's readiness to enhance cooperation with Central Asian countries to counter hegemonic and power politics and support international justice.

His remarks came during his participation in the second China-Central Asia Summit, held in the Kazakh capital, Astana.

Xi pointed out that China and the five Central Asian countries have successfully forged a spirit of cooperation based on mutual respect, trust, and shared benefit, as well as pursuing joint modernization through high-quality development.

On the sidelines of the summit, the Chinese leader held a series of bilateral meetings with regional leaders. In his meeting with Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedow, he affirmed China's readiness to fully cooperate with Turkmenistan, with a focus on exploiting the potential of the partnership to the mutual benefit of both parties.

Xi also met with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, calling for swift implementation of joint plans to achieve tangible results and promote the building of a community with a shared future between the two countries. He emphasized that China remains a reliable partner of Tajikistan and fully supports its efforts to safeguard its independence, sovereignty, and national security.

During his meeting with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, the two sides discussed ways to advance the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project, as well as creating new growth opportunities in clean energy, sustainable mining, and artificial intelligence.

Xi expressed China's commitment to supporting Kyrgyzstan on vital issues of mutual concern, emphasizing the depth of bilateral relations and continued fruitful cooperation.
