The resistance inflicts casualties among the occupation army and targets its vehicles in the southern Gaza Strip.

In a brief statement, the Qassam Brigades said that its fighters targeted "four Zionist engineering excavators with Al-Yassin 105 missiles, setting them on fire," in the center of the town of Abasan al-Kabira, east of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip.

It confirmed that its fighters observed "the killing and wounding of a number of occupation soldiers at the targeted site, in addition to the landing of helicopters for evacuation."

In a second statement, Al-Qassam Brigades explained that its fighters targeted, on Friday, "a Merkava tank and a D9 military bulldozer with two highly explosive landmines in the town of Abasan al-Kabira, east of Khan Yunis."

North of Khan Yunis, the Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad, announced in two separate statements that it had detonated a highly explosive device against an Israeli vehicle and targeted an Israeli excavator with machine guns on Highway 5.

The Israeli occupation army did not comment on the statements of the Qassam Brigades and the Al-Quds Brigades until the time of preparing this report.

These operations come as part of the Palestinian factions' response to the genocidal war waged by Israel against the Gaza Strip, with US support, since October 7, 2023. This war includes killing, starvation, destruction, and displacement, ignoring international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.

As of Thursday, the number of Israeli officers and soldiers killed since the start of the genocide in Gaza had reached approximately 879, in addition to 6,012 wounded, according to data on the army's website.

According to observers, Israel is concealing the human and material losses resulting from its war on the Gaza Strip. It prohibits filming and the circulation of photos and video clips, and warns against providing information on this matter to the media except through entities subject to its strict oversight.

The ongoing genocide in Gaza has left approximately 189,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing. Hundreds of thousands have been displaced, and famine has claimed the lives of many, including children.
