TikTok is introducing a new feature based on artificial intelligence ( AI ) to allow users to limit the types of content they don't want to see on the For You Page (FYP).
Previously, TikTok allowed its platform users to filter content based on keywords, using keyword filters to restrict certain content from appearing in their feeds.
The new Smart Keyword Filters use AI to automatically detect and filter out words that have similar meanings, according to a TechCrunch release on Tuesday (3/6).
For example, if a user chooses to block the word " remodeling " then the system will also filter out words like " renovation " and " renovations ."
TikTok said that users will be able to select or remove certain keywords from the filter list according to their preferences.
The limit of filterable keywords will be doubled from 100 to 200.
