2025 World Gymnastics Championships Jakarta sets record number of participants

Chair of the Indonesian Gymnastics Federation Ita Yuliati said the 53rd Artistic Gymnastics World Championships or the 2025 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships at the Indonesia Arena, Senaya, October 19-25, set a new record with 86 countries registered as participants.

"Usually, this world championship is attended by around 70 countries, and this time there are already 86 countries that have registered. This is a record in itself," said Ita in Jakarta, Tuesday.

From the 86 countries, more than 600 athletes will compete, with the total number of participants including officials and team supporters reaching almost 1,500 people. Registration for participants will close on July 20.

"From there, the exact number of participants and countries that will participate will be known," Ita added.

Approaching 100 days of implementation, Indonesia as the host continues to perfect various aspects of preparation, starting from arena readiness, technical aspects, budget, to national team training camps.

"We have coordinated with the GBK management and the PUPR Ministry to ensure that the rigging and lighting systems at the Indonesia Arena are safe and meet international standards," said Ita.

In terms of funding, the Indonesian Gymnastics Federation has prepared a Budget Plan (RAB) with the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Around 40 percent of technical needs have begun to be realized.
