Investigators at the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes of the Attorney General's Office confiscated 72 cars from the Sritex 2 Sawah Building, Banmati, Sukoharjo Regency, Central Java.
Head of the Attorney General's Office's Legal Information Center , Harli Siregar, said in his statement that the confiscation was in the context of investigating alleged corruption in the provision of credit by PT BJB, PT Bank DKI, and BPD Central Java to PT Sri Rejeki Isman Tbk and its subsidiary entities.
"The confiscation activity was carried out on the grounds that the objects or documents were used as tools to commit criminal acts," he said.
In addition, the confiscation was carried out because the objects or documents related to the car were suspected of being the result of a crime, related to a crime, and were in the possession of the suspect or another party as long as they were relevant to the case.
Dozens of cars that were confiscated consisted of various brands, ranging from Subaru, Isuzu, Toyota, Mercedes Benz, to Lexus.
Meanwhile, 10 of the 72 cars are now being stored at the Class I Rupbasan West Jakarta and Tangerang to be secured, maintained, and managed. Meanwhile, the remaining 62 vehicles are still being stored at the Sritex 2 Building, Sukoharjo.
"Guarded by 10 TNI members and employees at the Sukoharjo District Attorney's Office while the search for a safe and adequate place is carried out," said the Head of the Legal Information Center.
Previously, investigators at Jampidsus had also searched the house of PT Sritex Director Iwan Kurniawan Lukminto and the PT Sritex office located in Sukoharjo, Central Java.
