Banda Aceh Immigration Deports Malaysian Citizens

The Class I Immigration Office, Banda Aceh Immigration Checkpoint deported a Malaysian citizen for violating his residence permit in Indonesia.

Head of the Class I TPI Banda Aceh Immigration Office, Gindo Ginting in Banda Aceh, Wednesday, said that the Malaysian citizen with the initials MK was deported to his country via Sultan Iskandar Muda International Airport, Blang Bintang, Aceh Besar Regency.

"Deportation is carried out after the immigration process and supervision are completed. The foreign nationals are returned to their home countries using commercial flights," he said.

Gindo said the Malaysian citizen was known to have violated his residence permit in Indonesia since 2020. MK entered Indonesia using a visa-free visit facility.

However, after the residence permit period expired, MK did not leave Indonesian territory, so this action violated Article 78 Paragraph (3) of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration.

"Deportation is a law enforcement against any violation committed by foreigners in Indonesia. Immigration does not tolerate foreigners who violate immigration rules," he said.
