Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz, via the X platform, offered his condolences to the families of "Sergeant Shoham Menachem, Sergeant Shlomo Yakir Schram, and Sergeant Yuli Victor of the Armored Corps, who fell in battle in the Gaza Strip."
Transportation Minister Miri Regev said via Twitter: "With the death of the three soldiers, we will continue the fight until all the abducted soldiers are returned and Hamas's capabilities are eliminated."
political war
In contrast, Democratic Party leader Yair Golan wrote on Twitter: "Israel 2025... A new announcement from the Israeli army: Three more heroic fighters fell today in Gaza, victims of an endless political war."
He added, "Whoever sent them into battle (meaning Netanyahu) is meeting with the leaders of the Haredi parties to ensure that his political allies are exempt from conscription."
It is noteworthy that the Haredi parties are threatening to withdraw from the government unless a law is passed exempting members of the community from military conscription.
Golan continued: "Once again, Netanyahu sells out his soldiers and sacrifices their blood in order to stay in power for another day."
Black Night
For his part, former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said via Twitter: "A dark night," adding that "another family just received the horrific news of the killing of their son in Gaza."
He pointed out that "at that moment, in the halls of the Knesset, members of the ruling coalition are turning the world upside down to enact a draft evasion law."
"These politicians are working to prevent Haredi youth from joining their peers who are defending the people of Israel with their bodies," he said.
He continued: "We are in a state of war. Our children are there. In Gaza, in the north (on the border with Lebanon), wherever needed. This is a shameful government."
"a tragic disaster"
Opposition leader Yair Lapid, via Twitter, described the killing of the three soldiers as a "shocking catastrophe."
The "Awakened Mothers" movement, which represents mothers of Israeli soldiers, commented on the draft law exempting Haredim from conscription, saying, "Three fighters were killed today in Gaza, and a fourth soldier committed suicide at a military base" in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.
"At the same time, while the government was aware of what had happened, it was busy finding solutions for the Haredim to evade military service," she added in a statement carried by the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.
"While entire lives collapse, our children are thrown into the depths of hell, drained, exhausted, and without hope," she continued.
She continued: "More deaths and suicides, and they (the government) act as if we have countless sons to bury. We must not let this continue."
Netanyahu, who is wanted by international justice, mourned the three soldiers, saying on Twitter : "A difficult evening. The entire Israeli people mourn the fall of the three heroic fighters."
Yesterday, Monday, Israel announced the killing of 3 of its soldiers and the serious injury of an officer, as a result of the explosion of a tank carrying them in the northern Gaza Strip. They were from the Armored Corps, in the 52nd Battalion of the “Iron Monuments” Division (401).
With the deaths of these soldiers, the announced death toll of the Israeli occupation army since the beginning of the war on October 7, 2023, has risen to 893 officers and soldiers, in addition to 6,099 wounded.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a genocidal war in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.
The US-backed genocide left more than 197,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing. Hundreds of thousands were displaced, and a famine claimed the lives of many, including dozens of children.
