Israel announces interception of a missile fired from Yemen that forced millions into shelters.

The army said via the XN platform, "The air force intercepted a missile launched from Yemen a short while ago, triggering alarms in some areas of the country."

For its part, the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that air raid sirens sounded early Thursday morning in several towns in central Israel and the Jerusalem area, following the launch of a rocket from Yemen, sending millions of people into shelters.

She added that the army later announced that the missile was intercepted by the Arrow system, marking the first time the air raid sirens had been sounded.

The Houthi group had not commented on the attack until the time of writing this report.

The Houthis affirm their commitment to continuing their attacks on Israel until it ends its war of extermination against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, which began on October 7, 2023.

The genocide left more than 195,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced persons and a famine that claimed the lives of many, including dozens of children.
